White Chocolate Mocha (3 variants)

This week has been unbearably cold and with my busy mornings as of late a nice hot cup of white chocolate mocha really does the job. I'm one of those people who doesn't take cream with their coffee, I take coffee with my cream. - literally - and these have the perfect balance of coffee and cream. Definitely my cup of Joe. The hubster thinks I'm pretty weird since he tends to take his coffee black, but like they say, "opposites attract".  Anyway, back to this week's recipes - I have three delicious recipes for you guys. - one is a plain white chocolate mocha and the other two are simple variations that are inspired by the upcoming holiday season and perfect for Christmas morning. White Chocolate Mocha
Yield: serves 2

Ingredients:

1 cup whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup white chocolate
1 ½ cups strong brewed coffee
Whipped cream
White chocolate shavings

Directions:

Place white chocolate in a heat proof bowl; set aside. Combine milk and heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium high heat and heat until it simmers. Pour heated milk and cream over white chocolate and let it sit for 5 minutes then whisk until the chocolate has melted. Pour mixture halfway up into two mugs, top with brewed coffee and a dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with some white chocolate shavings and enjoy!



White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha
Yield: serves 2

Ingredients:

1 cup whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup white chocolate
½ teaspoon peppermint extract
1 ½ cups strong brewed coffee
Whipped cream
Crushed peppermint candy

Directions:

Place white chocolate and peppermint extract in a heat proof bowl; set aside. Combine milk and heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium high heat and heat until it simmers. Pour heated milk and cream over white chocolate and let it sit for 5 minutes then whisk until the chocolate has melted. Pour mixture halfway up into two mugs, top with brewed coffee and a dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with some crushed peppermint candy and enjoy!



White Chocolate Eggnog Mocha
Yield: serves 2

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups eggnog
½ cup white chocolate
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 ½ cups strong brewed coffee
Whipped cream
Ground nutmeg

Directions:

Place white chocolate and ground nutmeg in a heat proof bowl; set aside. Heat eggnog in a small saucepan over medium high heat and heat until it simmers. Pour heated eggnog over white chocolate and let it sit for 5 minutes then whisk until the chocolate has melted. Pour mixture halfway up into two mugs, top with brewed coffee and a dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with a small sprinkle of ground nutmeg and enjoy!
